East Sussex Short Breaks Grants

Grants of up to £10k are available for constituted groups in East Sussex to deliver short break activities for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) aged between 0 and 19 years.

Projects should address gaps in short breaks provision within East Sussex, including:

  • Geographic gaps.
  • Time gaps.
  • Income gaps.
  • Age gaps.
  • Specific needs gaps.
  • Type of provision gaps.

Revenue grants can be used to cover activities such as:

  • Contributing towards start-up funding for new short break provisions.
  • Sustaining and enhancing existing short break provisions.
  • Improving the quality of the short breaks environment.
  • Research and development.
  • Marketing activities.
  • Organisational development to improve the long-term stability of organisations.

Funding is for projects and activities that:

  • Are innovative.
  • Show evidence of need.
  • Address the short break’s agenda.
  • Be additional to the normal work of the applicant.
  • Have a clear benefit to a group (or groups) of children and young people with disabilities in East Sussex.
