Healthy Communities Fund

Up to £120k to achieve health equality for Westminster residents by supporting free community-led activities, specifically targeting diverse groups, that enable people to lead healthier lifestyles.

Funding is for activities that support the following outcomes:

  • Increase levels of physical activity and fitness levels.
  • Improve understanding of a healthy food and balanced diet and how to achieve this.
  • Reduce social isolation and improve social connections.
  • Improve understanding of emotional well-being and how to build on it.
  • Improve understanding of the benefits of preventative healthcare, including screenings, vaccinations, and self-management around the impact of long-term health conditions.
  • Improve access, availability and acceptance into services and support options.

Funding is for health-related projects and activities that benefit residents, such as:

  • Cultural dancing sessions.
  • Group sports.
  • Fitness classes.
  • Mindfulness and wellbeing.
  • All-nation cooking classes.
  • Gardening and walks.
  • One-to-one tailored support.

Activities should be regular (ideally weekly) and occupy a minimum of two to three hours per week (combined or split apart).
