INVESTMENT PRIORITY: SUPPORTING RURAL BUSINESSES & COMMUNITIES

The Rural Prosperity Fund aligns with the wider UK Shared Prosperity Fund, and aims to provide support and investment into rural areas. The CIOS Rural Prosperity Fund Investment Plan sets out how the available budget will be prioritised to address local rural challenges and opportunities to deliver prosperity for rural businesses and rural communities.

Funding is available for investment into community infrastructure, assets and nature-based solutions that will allow Cornwall and Isles of Scilly to take advantage of our unique natural assets.

Examples of the type of activity that can be funded under this opportunity include:

  • Development or improvement of local attractions, trails and other tourism infrastructure such as information boards or visitor centres that contribute to a tourism offer outside of the normal peak season.
  • Larger projects that support community groups through the development or improvement of community infrastructure and local green spaces with the aim of enhancing physical, cultural and social aspects of local rural communities.
  • Increasing accessibility and use of green and blue spaces such as community gardens, watercourses and footpaths.
  • Restoration, refurbishment or improvement of cultural, historic, natural and heritage assets and sites in rural areas.
  • Active travel infrastructure within rural and remote communities that link to existing networks and public transport options.

It is recommended that before applying, you check eligibility on the DEFRA magic website to make sure your project is based in an eligible area as there are some locations that are not eligible for funding under this opportunity. The map can be found under Administrative Geographies > Other Administrative Boundaries > Rural England Prosperity Fund  https://magic.defra.gov.uk/MagicMap.asp

WANT TO APPLY?

  1. Please fill out the details of your project via the enquiry form below. The Good Growth team will respond to you within five working days with the next steps.
  2. The team will send you an application form, which should be returned via email in advance of the application deadline. RPF funding is designed to extend the reach of SPF funding into the most rural areas of CIoS. In cases where more than one funding opportunity appears suitable, the Good Growth Team will advise on the most appropriate strand to apply under. This will avoid duplication and help to ensure the RPF fund dovetails with projects that are funded by SPF.

More information on what will be required in your application is available on the Application Support page.

If you are awaiting a response on your expression of interest in SPF funding and it has been more than 5 working days,  please check your spam/junk folders first before contacting the team.
