About the Fund
Grants of up to £10,000 to voluntary and community groups to support people aged 18-64 in Kirklees. The aim is to support activities that:
Use innovative, creative, or alternative approaches to bring together activities that improve health and wellbeing and one or more of the following:
- Helping people progress towards training, volunteering, or employment.
- Building confidence, resilience, and skills.
- Creating or supporting volunteering opportunities.
- Connecting people into other Wellness Works support where needed (Anchors, Key Workers, Community Champions, Volunteering).
What they fund
Examples include:
- Health and wellbeing groups (exercise, arts, peer support, walking groups).
- Skills-building activities (digital skills, confidence workshops, pre-employment taster sessions).
- Volunteering projects (recruiting/training volunteers, mentoring, creating new opportunities).
- Activities with practical support that reduce barriers to attending (e.g. transport, equipment)
- Activities that reduce isolation and build community connection (community cafés, cultural events, peer groups).
Eligibility
Voluntary and community groups, charities, social enterprises, and faith based organisations delivering inclusive activities.Grassroots or informal groups with a constitution and bank account (or hosted by an eligible organisation).Applicants must be based in, or delivering activity for residents of, Kirklees.
