Automate your prospect research with Fundin

Grant prospecting is repetitive work. Checking a funder’s giving history. Reading their last few annual reports. Cross-referencing your charity’s own finances against their eligibility rules. None of it is hard. All of it takes time.

Fundin’s Agent does that work for you. Ask it a question in plain English and it goes and finds the answer, using your own charity profile and years of funder data we’ve already scraped and structured ourselves. Giving history, annual reports, eligibility rules, the lot.

That’s the difference between getting an answer and getting research. You’re not asking it to guess. You’re asking it to check.

Find grants worth applying for

“Find me 5 grants we can apply for this week. As part of your research, double check our eligibility and cross reference this against the charity commission data to find any reasons we shouldn’t apply.”

Then you go and do something else. In the background, it will:

  1. Search Fundin for your top matches
  2. Check eligibility against the data already in your Fundin account
  3. Cross reference each funder’s annual reports to see how many grants they actually give out per year, whether they tend to fund organisations like yours, and whether it’s worth your time applying
  4. Hand you back a researched prospect list, ready to start drafting against

No tabs open, no spreadsheets, no manually reading through ten funder websites to work out if you’re wasting your time.

Research a specific funder

“Research the XYZ Trust for us. What’s their average grant size, who have they funded recently, and are we likely to be a good fit?”

It will:

  1. Pull the funder’s annual reports and grant history from Fundin’s database
  2. Work out their average grant size and typical funding range
  3. List the types of organisations they’ve funded recently, by cause area, size and location
  4. Compare that against your own charity’s profile and give you a straight answer on fit

Useful before you sink time into an application, or before a call with a funder you don’t know much about yet.

Find funders backing similar charities

“Find funders who have given grants to charities similar to ours, same cause area and similar size, in the last two years. Rank them by how good a fit they look.”

It will:

  1. Search funder giving history for grants to organisations matching your cause area and size
  2. Rank the results by how closely their existing grantees resemble your charity
  3. Pull each funder’s typical grant size and frequency
  4. Hand you a ranked shortlist of funders worth approaching, including ones you’d likely never have found by browsing a grants database

Same underlying data as the first example, just worked from a different angle. Instead of starting from a grant listing and checking if you qualify, this one starts from a funder’s giving history and works out who’s already backing organisations like yours.

Whatever cause you work in, the process is identical. It’s reading your campaign data and matching it against real funder data, not making assumptions based on your charity’s name.

Try this for free using Fundin here and ask the assisant one of these on your own organisation before you do anything else today.

You’ll have a shortlist before your coffee goes cold ☕️
