The Cornwall Community Foundation is distributing grants of up to £3,000 to local charities and community organisations that support individuals on low or no income facing a sudden financial shock in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The fund is open with a rolling deadline through to 1 January 2027.

About Cornwall Community Foundation

The Cornwall Community Foundation manages this fund on behalf of Cornwall Council’s Crisis and Resilience Fund, which replaced the Household Support Fund. The Foundation has been strengthening communities across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly since 1999, connecting donors and public funds with the charities that need them most.

What the Fund Supports

The fund is designed to help third-party organisations provide fast, practical support to individuals experiencing a sudden, unexpected financial crisis — not as a replacement for ongoing income, but as a one-off intervention to prevent people falling deeper into hardship.

  • Household costs: rent, bills, and utilities
  • Food and essential transport
  • Essential household appliances and furniture
  • Priority debt payments
  • Other essentials identified by the distributing organisation

How Much Funding Is Available

Grants of up to £3,000 are available to distributing organisations. Each individual household supported may receive a maximum of £350 from the Crisis Fund in a calendar year, distributed via cash, vouchers, in-kind support, or other methods at the organisation’s discretion.

Who Is Eligible

Applications are open to third-party organisations — not individuals — that meet general eligibility criteria and are already known to the people they support. Eligible organisations include registered charities, voluntary organisations, food banks, and care organisations operating in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Organisations supporting individuals with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) must contact Cornwall Community Foundation for guidance.

  • Registered charities and voluntary organisations
  • Food banks and community pantries
  • Care organisations
  • Must operate in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly

How to Apply

Apply via the Cornwall Community Foundation website (link below). Organisations must provide detailed breakdowns of intended fund usage at application stage and actual spend after distribution.
