The Cornwall Community Foundation has launched the Single Homeless and Rough Sleeping Fund to support organisations working with people who are homeless or at risk of losing their home.

This fund focuses on prevention, early intervention and practical support, helping individuals move away from rough sleeping and towards stable accommodation.

About the Fund

The fund has been created to strengthen frontline support for single people experiencing homelessness across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

It prioritises projects that provide joined-up, local services and early support to prevent people from reaching crisis point. Partnership working is strongly encouraged, with an emphasis on collaboration between organisations to deliver more effective outcomes.

This funding comes at a time of increasing housing pressure in the region, with growing demand for services supporting people at risk of homelessness.

How Much Funding Is Available

  • £1,000 to £10,000 for individual organisations
  • Up to £30,000 for partnership projects involving multiple organisations

Funding can support both core costs and project delivery.

All funded activity must be delivered by 30 March 2027.

What the Fund Supports

The fund supports practical, frontline work that helps prevent and reduce rough sleeping.

Examples of supported activity include:

  • Face-to-face advice and support for people at risk of homelessness
  • Early intervention services to prevent eviction or housing loss
  • Outreach and engagement with people sleeping rough
  • Support helping individuals move into stable accommodation
  • Partnership projects delivering joined-up local services

The fund is particularly interested in work that combines prevention with practical support and demonstrates clear local impact.

Applications are open to:

  • Registered charities
  • Community Interest Companies (CICs)
  • Voluntary and community groups

Organisations must:

  • Be working in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly
  • Deliver services that benefit people who are homeless or at risk
  • Meet general eligibility and governance requirements

Partnership applications are encouraged where organisations collaborate to deliver coordinated support.

What the Fund Will Not Support

The fund does not support:

  • Projects outside Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly
  • Private or profit-making organisations
  • Statutory organisations such as local authorities or schools
  • Retrospective funding for activities already completed
  • Organisations with significant free reserves
  • Political or religious campaigning work

Projects must clearly benefit people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Application Timeline

  • Applications open: 18 February 2026
  • Deadline: 31 March 2026
  • Decisions: Mid-May 2026
  • Project delivery deadline: 30 March 2027

Applications are reviewed by a panel, with funding decisions made shortly after.

What Makes a Strong Application

Strong applications will:

  • Demonstrate clear local need and understanding of homelessness challenges
  • Show how the project will prevent or reduce rough sleeping
  • Provide practical, deliverable support with measurable outcomes
  • Highlight collaboration with other organisations where relevant

Projects that combine early intervention with ongoing support are particularly aligned with the fund’s priorities.

Is This Right for Your Organisation

If your organisation works with people experiencing homelessness or at risk of rough sleeping in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly, this fund could provide valuable support.

This is especially relevant for charities delivering frontline services, outreach or preventative support. Particularly those able to collaborate with others to deliver joined-up solutions.
