About the Fund
The Access Foundation awards grants to charities and not-for-profit organisations to mitigate the digital divide by supporting projects that make IT facilities, support, and learning accessible to disadvantaged and vulnerable people. Projects must deliver measurable outcomes, such as the number of people trained or supported and their progression into education or employment. Grants are made on a restricted fund basis and should demonstrate clear impact.
Eligibility
- Charities and not-for-profit organisations, including Community Interest Companies (CICs limited by guarantee)
- Applicants must operate in countries where the Access Group has offices: UK, Ireland, Romania, Vietnam, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, USA, Australia, New Zealand
- Individuals, CICs limited by shares, religious/animal/political organisations are not eligible
- Applications must be made online with supporting documents
- Organisation must provide:
• Project details and outcomes
• Financial accounts
• Safeguarding policies
• Registration and tax exemption details (if outside England & Wales)
Grant Details
- Grant amount: between £10,000 and £50,000
- Duration: Up to 12 months (exceptions may be made for multi-year projects)
- Applications must include a budget, safeguarding policy, measurable outcomes, and evidence of charitable status
- Funds must be used for specific services, initiatives, or projects — not general overheads
- Grants awarded at the discretion of the Trustees; no feedback provided for unsuccessful applicants
- Monitoring and evaluation required, with reports due 14 months after award
- Funds may be reclaimed if misused or if safeguarding concerns arise
