About the Fund

The Schroder Charity Trust’s funding priorities are

  1. Enabling children and young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds to thrive in education and employment, with priorities including early years school readiness, literacy skills, financial literacy, vocational careers, employment outcomes for young offenders, and tutoring for school attainment;
  2. Strengthening communities by enhancing wellbeing and life outcomes of vulnerable people, including financial advice, improving life outcomes for children in care, reducing social isolation for older people, youthwork for life skills, and support for the homeless.

Eligibility


Exclusions include:

  • Charities outside UK registration,
  • Non-charity status organisations, individuals, political/statutory organizations, animal welfare,
  • Newly established charities without a full year audited accounts,
  • Charities with annual income below £150,000 or above £1,000, and those that applied unsuccessfully in last 12 months or granted funds in last 24 months.
  • Prohibited funding areas: outside stated objectives, general appeals, festivals/events, capital/buildings, personal sponsorships, work outside UK, requests over £5,000, endowments, multi-year funding, and retrospective expenses.
  • Local/regional affiliates of national charities may not be funded all.

    Grant Details

    The Schroder Charity Trust typically makes grants of up to £5,000. Grants are for a one-year period and fund both core costs and project (restricted) costs.
