About the Fund

This capital‑grant programme supports not‑for‑profit organisations delivering physical improvement projects in neighbourhoods impacted by landfill or waste‑processing activity. The fund is designed to upgrade public amenities, restore historical sites, improve biodiversity, and deliver visible benefits for community use.

What they’ll fund

  • Materials, equipment and contractor costs for improvement works (e.g., playgrounds, sports facilities, community halls)
  • Refurbishment of existing amenities, nature reserves or heritage structures (capital only – no salaries or general running costs)
  • Improvements that deliver long‑term community access and enhanced environment quality

Who is eligible?

  • Charities, community groups, CICs and similar non‑profit bodies
  • Project must be capital and based at a defined site owned or leased by the applicant for a minimum term
  • Located within an eligible “funding zone” around qualifying sites; accessibility to the public is required
  • Schools, colleges and purely revenue or event‑based activities are excluded
